Why 2018 was special and why 2019 will begin a new era for Vegan Leaders

2018 was our third year of existence and we had record achievements.

•Early in the year we published the Vegan Leaders Playbook, a unique free guide to starting a vegan or plant-based movement in one’s workplace. The Playbook was now downloaded by hundreds of corporate vegans and it inspired some ground-breaking corporate initiatives.

•We launched the first Vegan Leaders Corporate Initiatives Support Program (VLCI SP), with 12 participants who worked for 6 months on a vegan initiative in their workplace (which included Schneider Electric, Adobe, Merck, Adventist Health and other companies).

•We added 1,500 new members; double the previous annual average. We surpassed 3,000 new members last year.

•Our projects received a new level of media coverage and we started publishing new contents such as video interviews.

•Our management team expanded to include a new Vice President, Director of Communications, Director of Technology and Head Coach.

Our strategic purpose – to empower vegan employees of corporations to bring the vegan agenda into their workplace – is now so clear it almost shapes itself. And it’s much needed too – this was long the “blind spot” of the vegan movement. In 2019, we are already working on the following:

•We are filing for a 501c3 status which will allow us generate revenue to fund bigger and stronger programs.

•We launched a ground-breaking survey to gather global data about vegan-friendliness of corporations.

•We finished our Fall 2018 VLCI Support Program cycle, and we are starting the Spring 2019 cycle with 9 participants who will work on their vegan workplace initiative for 6 months, with a coach and step-by-step plan.

•Our board already had a big strategy session to prioritize and rank our projects. Don’t be surprised if you see brand new offerings from us!

Please stay tuned for more updates. Contact us if you’d like to get involved with our all-volunteer management team.
