Survey to Measure Workplace Vegan-friendliness
Vegan Leaders in Corporate Management has launched a ground-breaking 2019 survey to gather data about the “vegan-friendliness” of workplaces (as judged by employees). The results will help identify the best companies as well as best areas within companies for new vegan or plant-based initiatives.
More and more companies are now recognizing the popularity and merits of the vegan or plant-based lifestyle. The vegan message fits into many corporate interests, mostly employee health & wellness, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, innovation/disruption, personal leadership and more. Some companies, notably in the tech sector, have launched bold programs to promote vegan eating. WeWork’s 2018 announcement to go meat-free company-wide has set the biggest precedent yet, widely celebrated by plant-based advocates.
Still, the information about corporate vegan initiatives is largely anecdotal. There are no comprehensive statistics about which companies have vegan/plant-based employee groups or workplace programs. Also, there is only sparse information about companies’ vegan offerings in their dining facilities or employee events.
Vegan Leaders in Corporate Management is tapping into its 3,000+ member base along with the broader online vegan community to help build these statistics. The results will help boost the Vegan Leaders Corporate Initiatives Support Program and other free programs for the members. Thanks to the survey, VLCM can help companies see the benefits of offering healthy vegan options.
