Dear Vegan Leader,
and just like that...2022 is almost in the books! This year we broke the 6,000-member mark, which is an amazing milestone compared to our humble beginnings in 2014. As we run this amazing community, we also offer our unique Corporate Initiatives support program which helps vegan employees introduce plant-based improvements in their workplaces. Through this program in 2022 we helped create:
internal vegan support channels for those looking to change their diets in one company,
a campaign promoting green eating at a university, and
doubled demand for plant-based meals in a consulting group.
In addition, we have recently learned that an employer of one of our board members has started a "vegan by default" initiative where events, parties, or gatherings offer plant-based options by default and can be modified upon request. It's great to see change and to continue being part of this change.
We continue to develop other resources and tools to help corporations adopt plant-based initiatives, including the Success Stories catalog launched in late 2021. Our Vegan Leaders Playbook, an informational and strategy guide with case studies and communication templates, continues to be downloaded to help employees implement plant-based projects at work.
VLCM has been and continues to be run by volunteers since its inception. Our main constraint is manpower to run all these projects just with volunteers. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to VLCM to help us launch more initiatives next year on a bigger scale!
